Ecodesign Directive and increasingly challenging efficiency goals.
Rhoss welcomes the challenge and is ready with the new 2018 product catalog!
In the last years, the Member States of the European Community are strongly oriented towards achieving the goals of reducing overall energy consumption and progressively reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2020.
In this sense, various Directives have been issued among them the Ecodesign (2009/125/CE) which provides specifications for an environmentally friendly design of all products connected to energy by imposing a more efficient use, implemented through specific regulations for relevant product categories.
Starting from September 2015, all heat pumps with Pdes lower than 400kW have to meet the minimum seasonal efficiency requirements (SCOP) imposed by Regulations 813/2013 and 811/2013 in order to be placed on the European market.
From next January 2018 it will be the turn of high-power reversible chillers and heat pumps that will have to comply with the 2016/2281 regulation.
This regulation marks the step and requires the achievement of very challenging minimum seasonal efficiency values in cooling (SEER), which are achievable only through precise design, accurate selection of components and advanced energy saving management logics.
The demand for increasingly efficient and low-consumption products is also accompanied by a rapid phase-down of high-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants in favor of new low or no GWP ecological refrigerants, as required by the F-Gas Directive.
Thanks to 50 years experience in the HVAC sector and the availability of a cutting-edge testing laboratory, Rhoss is ready to overcome these important challenges with a 2018 product catalog compliant to the requirements of the regulations!
